Easter 2011

Easter was so much fun this year. Finley was old enough to know more about what was going on and the excitement in her face and her voice were just priceless. I just love it.

It started off with a visit from the Easter Bunny!!!

The classic hollow chocolate bunny..my favorite. I always got one every single year growing up and this one was actually given to Finley by her Nana (my mama) who gave all 3 of us one!!!

Finley woke up very happy and excited about Easter!!

This was the start of our many attempts to get that "perfect" Easter picture after church (we tried before, but it was a no-go) and she was not cooperating.

She always has her own agenda!!!

She was telling me and Adam to leave at this point.

She was happy because she had found a squirrel and wanted to stay there with it and didn't care if her mommy and daddy stayed or not.

Now that we were home, I just knew I could get a good picture in the yard before we went in to change out clothes, but....

there she is..my barefoot, wrinkle dressed, sweet as sugar, loving, strong-willed, mind of her own...

sometimes cooperative (if it's on her terms), loves the outside and her puppies baby girl.

Once we got in the house, she tried to hide in the closet, so I would leave her alone.

After church, we all went to Karen and Butch's house for lunch. I work with Karen and Adam happens to work with Butch...small world. This is Finley wearing their daughter, Megan's, t-shirt so she could dye eggs.

Finley had a ball..she was the only little one there, so everyone just ate her up!!!

Thanks for a wonderful Easter!!!!

Granny Burr

The best stop we made on April 23, 2011 was to see my Granny Burr, Finley's great-grandmother, my mama's mama. I hear that it is rare to have 5 generations around at one time, but my family did. Ora mae, Finley's great-great grandmother (Granny Burr's mama) is still here with us, however, Granny Burr is not. She passed away on May 27th, 2011, at her home with many loving family members around her, just as she wanted. I miss her so much that it hurts and I will never forget her. I regret that Finley will not get to grow up with her and get to know her better, but I will make sure that she does know her by telling Finley everything I can about her. This event really burned in me that life is so short and we are not promised tomorrow, so live every second of every day like it's your last. And stop saying, "I will do it later", "I will call her later", or "I will see them next time", because there may not be a next time.
I love you Granny!!!

Saturday before Easter activities-April 23, 2011

On the Saturday before Easter, we went home for a quick visit with the family...it was one of those fast, one-day trips, but worth every minute.

We got to meet my brother's new dog, Roscoe.

He's so cute (that's what Finley says about everything now).

Finley loves to play with the toys that NaNa has out for her and she also has a closet full, too.

It was really, really windy that day!!!!

Out next stop was at Addie Grace's 2nd Birthday party. We had such a good time and loved seeing all of our friends!!

Daddy and Finley discussing finding the eggs.

Addie Grace had such a cute cake..you can see Preston in the background.

Of course we had to pet their dog, Roxie, who is just as sweet as can be.

Finley really loved this little care and insisted that her Daddy push her all over the yard.

Addie Grace and her mommy, Lee..who happens to be my oldest friend!!

Awwww...too sweet!!!

Finley was pooped out and tired. She fell asleep before we were out of the driveway.
