Mastering the Sippy Cup

Finley is not at all interested in holding a sippy cup. She finally will pick it up and then she chews on it. She will not even hold her bottle. I see other babies her age and they do this..I think it's because her mama just does it for her! Ha! Anyway, she is starting to get it, and this weekend she has done the best.

This has been the best sippy cup for her so far. It is called a learner cup and it is much smaller than any of the others.

She was actually drinking from it in this picture and doing a good job of it.

I tried this one with a straw, ya know, since she already knows how to suck on the bottle, but all she did was chew it.

And her new favorite game is throwing anything she has from the highchair and watching me pick it up a thousand times.

You can really see her chewing the straw in this picture.

8 Month Update

Finley turned 8 months on January 5th. She has had so many "firsts" lately and she has been moving, moving, moving. She first pulled up by herself on Christmas Eve and now she stands by herself for about 5-10 seconds at a time. She realizes she is doing it and starts to giggle and falls backwards. She has finally started sleeping through the night, yet sometimes she will wake up around 1:00 am but goes right back to sleep. Who would have thought it would have taken 8 1/2 months to do this..Yikes!! But I feel like a brand new person because of it.

Finley is wearing 12 month clothes...size 4 diapers and is weighing in at 21 pounds. She is attempting a sippy cup (but still needs help) and picking up her puffs by herself. She loves mashed and sweet potatoes and just about any baby food except for peaches and green stuff, which she eats when I mix it with something else. She has been in her "big girl" careseat for about a month and is on the last notch of her exersaucer and her jumpy seat...she's just so tall. She has her 9 month appointment in a few weeks and I will update her stats then.

First bubble bath...I had to put a bow in her hair..it's like an addiction these days.

She wanted to eat the bubbles. I guess she didn't know what they were.

Loves to play in her closet. Mommy needs to clean it out!

She always wakes up between 5:30 and 6:00 in the morning and goes back to sleep. She really needs to be up by 7:00 so her and her daddy can leave. I hate waking her up again, so instead, I took pictures of her.

Another sleepy head morning.
First time she wore a bow in her hair. She barely has enough hair for it.

She loved the hairbow and now she wears one everyday. I hope she keeps growing hair so she can wear bigger ones!!

She would sleep in the bed with daddy all day long. Isn't that sweet!

She also learned how to open drawers. So everytime she sees one now, she opens it and pulls everything out of it.

I think she looks like her mommy in this picture.
The first time in her new highchair. I don't know why I waited so long to get one.

Her first tooth...she now has 2!!

She stays in the bathtub until all the water is gone. She sticks her hand in the drain..I think she likes the way it feels. I think she would live in the bathtub.

Finley's first boo-boo. She fell on the rocking chair at daycare. She then got a 2nd one the next week because she fell on the corner of the toybox at daycare.

Christmas at Home

Our Christmas pictures were downloaded a little backwards, but you get the picture. Finley's first Christmas was so exciting and magical. We spent it at home with our families and we were so sad to leave. We came home a little early because Finley started getting sick again on Christmas Day night.

I love these little bloomers..I wish she could wear them everyday!!

This is her new face that her Daddy taught her to make over Christmas. Daddy calls it her "scrunchy face".

This is Finley's cousin, Cynthia, or Cindy Lou as we call her.

Finley and Cindy Lou had a great time Christmas morning at YaYa and Pop Pop's house. As you can see, Santa forget to leave them any presents..ha!!

They didn't know which to open first, so they just tore the paper off all of them.

Finley's favorite thing to do was to chew on and eat the paper..my little billy goat!!

We had fun with Uncle Keith opening out Santa Claus presents and NaNa and Pop's house.

Finley was happy to see her Princess fairy stocking that NaNa got her. As you can see, Finley had just gotten up..she still has sleep eyes. I don't know if she knew what was going on.

But she got going after a few minutes.

This is Finley opening her very first present on Christmas morning on her very first Christmas!!

This is me holding two very sleepy girls who had a hard morning opening presents.

My sister holding one of twin girls, Chloe.

Sweet little Connor. He is such a big boy now.

My baby Gracie. Bless her heart, she looks just like her Aunt MiMi!
