Does it just come on all of a sudden? Or gradually? Or what? I am sitting here trying to eat my breakfast, which is something that I felt like I needed right time I woke up this morning and the past several mornings. Once I eat, I am usually fine. I am now having "waves" of nausea, if that makes sense, as I eat. I also had it all day yesterday, it never went away. I think I would rather just vomit (such a lovely word) and get it over with, then to have constant nausea. On the other hand, I am thankful for it in some ways because it reminds me that I am pregnant, which I am so excited about and willing to endure whatever to get to the finish line!!
I will keep you updated on this new issue I am having.I have a strong feeling it will worsen over time, but hopefully it will not be debilitating, which is what I always describe nausea and vomiting as. Tell me your stories. Like when did it start and how long did it last. Any information will be reassuring for the novice preggo lady here from all of you experts out there!!

OOOHHHHH Misty and Adam!!! How wonderful to hear some great news after all the bad news this week!!! Congratulations to you both. I am so very excited for you. Will keep you three in our prayers. Oh and I don't think the nausea stops until.... well until you have grandkids maybe!
Mine was ,osty when I needed food....well, which was all of the time. I kept a bag of ginger snaps handy b/c it was really the the only thing that made it go away. And certain foods (or thoughts or smells of foods) made me nauseas too. Mine went away after about week 10. It's a yucky feeling, but you should start feeling better in about a month!
Mine was mostly nausea, no vomitting. Which, like you said, you just want to vomit and get it over with!! Mine lasted until weeks 11 or 12. Just try to eat small portions throughout the day for now. Ginger really helped me too. Ginger ale, giner snaps. Also saltines throughout the day helped too. I also sipped on apple juice. I'm sure it will get better soon!!!
I feel your pain! I am doing better now but about 2 weeks ago I described myself as "green"-I felt like the ugly Poison Control face all day long!!! I can say I am tons better now and hope it stays that way!
Ahh, the first few weeks are so fun and so nauseating...ha, ha! Ok that was lame, sorry. Mine started when I was about 6 weeks and went away around week 11. I threw up about 3 times total and the rest of the time just felt like I was going to. And yes it was better to just get it up. I had the hardest time with brushing my teeth. Every morning before work, after breakfast I dreaded brushing my teeth...it made me gag everytime (and throw up those few time). I agree with the others about eating something to help...saltines are always good. And I found that plain Cheerios were great...I kept a box at my desk! I hope you start feeling better soon but it is a good reminder that the little pea is growing!
I hope you have better luck with this than I did!! I didn't feel better until after Ella was born. .
Misty, I will pray that this doesn't last long. Unfortunately, I can't offer you much advice. The only time that I was nauseated during my pregnancy was when/if I took my prenatal vitamin in the morning. I quickly learned that it had to be taken at night!!
Maybe I'm just doomed with high maintenance girls from conception to...well, forever, I guess! UGGH, all of this "mine lasted a few weeks/months" stuff is making me want to vomit all over again! I was sick from morning to night most of my pregnancy with McCanless and almost the same for Mary Clare. I hope, hope, hope it ends for you!! I didn't have any other complications at all, and otherwise felt great!
I learned to deal with it and keep on truckin' I had to eat small amounts lots during the day. In between my small meals, I would suck on hard candy! I know, sounds crazy, but it worked for me. The toothbrush thing got me too, and even for a few months after birth! But you know the end result is so, so, so worth it!! I would vomit for another year and do it all over again for my babies!! ;) Good Luck! Love, Kerri
Hey Misty!! I just found your blog through Lee's. Congrats on your exciting news! I just passed it on to Edgard! He misses working with you so much! Looking forward to keeping up with you all now!!
