Adam and I went to our regular Monday maternal-fetal specialist appointment yesterday and had the biophysical profile and ultrasound. The technician asked when the last time we had the weight estimated after I inquired about it and I told her about 3 1/2 weeks ago, so she said she would do it. She has to do a little more measuring to do this.
Well everything was great, praise the Lord! She did her 30 second practice breathing and was moving around like she was dancing. She measures ahead in all classes..head, tummy, bones, everything. Her head is very low and I have started feeling increased pressure in the past few days. My fluid levels were the same as they had been the last 2 times, which is also good. I am just glad they haven't gotten lower. Anyway, Finley was estimated to be 8 lbs. and 6 oz. yesterday!!!! Yikes!! I was like OMG! I still have around 3 weeks to go. Of course, now they are watching that because I would like to avoid a C-section if possible and I would prefer not to push out a 9- 10 pound baby!!
We go back on Thursday afternoon for the same tests and then I go in next Monday, May 4th to my regular doctor to discuss induction and to be checked to see if I am thinned out or dilated any. They both agree for induction at 39 weeks which is a week from this Friday, so I am thinking she would want to do it that next Monday to avoid the weekend since she will not be on call. Who knows? But time is winding down and I still have so much to do.
Another thing. What are things that you would tell a first timer to take to the hospital that you wish you would have brought or forgot? I know about the usual, but some have told me 1-2 things that you HAVE to take for yourself or baby. I need to prepare my bag!!

Wow Mit! It seems like those estimates are usually off though from what I've heard from others so don't freak out yet!
Hmmm...take a pair of bedroom shoes that you can easly slip on (no elastic backs) and that you can toss in the trash when you leave the hospital! I also preferred to were sweatsuits with a tank underneath vs. nightgowns/pajamas.
Keep us updated! Just a few more days till your baby girl is here! :)
I thought of a couple of other things:
-A small notebook and pen. I can't remember if I started using this at the hospital, but I believe so. I used it to note feeding/poop times up until Preston went to daycare!!!! (Anal, you think?) I also used it to keep a list of gifts that we received. It went everywhere with me
-If you have a baby book and it has a page for footprints, have it out and ready to go for right after she is born!
I agree with Betsy, especially the notebook. I also took some flip flops for the shower. Another great thing to have was an extra pillow (with a case that you might not want to keep..). I know that sounds strange, but in our hospital it was so busy, they didn't have extras and I needed more support, plus Trey brought his the second time around b/c he went without when David was born. Glad all is well... still praying for you!
Hooray!! She will be here before you know it! I am glad everything is looking good. I am still praying for you guys and I know everything will go great. I wish I could be your labor nurse! Try to pack just the necessities cause then you have a bunch of bags full of stuff you don't really need. Hopefully you will only be there 1-2 nights. Love you!!!
So glad to hear all is well. Can't wait for the next update! As for what to pack...I packed a bazoodle of things even quaters for the snack machine with David. I never used anything I brought...including the pajamas. I decided to pack lighter with Grant and still didn't even use what I brought for her either. I stayed in the hospital gown and we almost had to stay 3 nights (they released us at 6pm on the 3rd day). I say, bring your toiletries and don't worry about anything else. I do think Betsy's notebook suggestion is great too...I did the same and it was like my Bible for weeks. Comes in handy if you need to write down how often you nurse etc. Good luck!
